CHICKEN IS WHAT WE DO. THAT’S WHY WE KNOW THAT IT’S NOT ONLY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR JESTERS CHICKEN TASTES GREAT – BUT THAT OUR CHICKENS HAVE HAD THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE FROM DAY ONE.
Jester Chicken Welfare Report has been created by the experts at FAI Farms and is the first of its kind for us (and it certainly won’t be the last). It’s an honest and open review of our welfare journey and how we take care of chicken throughout our supply chain including our successes, and those areas where greater improvement is still needed.
Following our commitment to signing up to the Better Chicken Commitment last year, we know there is more to be done, but this report is a clear example of how we can do this and will help track our progress each year.
We will continue to publish the report annually so we can document our ongoing journey towards ever-improving chicken welfare.
So… what does the report say?
The report isn’t just a box-ticking exercise for us and includes results on various welfare measures, like environmental enrichment and stocking density. We’ve also included data for the first time from our industry leading welfare reporting tool so we can monitor trend and report welfare outcome measures across our supply chain.
We hope, year on year we can show you all the progress and improvements that are being made within Jester Chicken, and encourage the industry to do the same, so we can all work towards improving the lives chickens!
All our Chicken is HMC approved by the HMC Council, they audit regular check each day to check that the Chicken we use is sourced from a HMC supplier.
